Rollz
The Leicester via Brighton Drum and Bass producer Rollz dramatically burst on to the scene in late 2009, with his début single 'Plugged In' filling up dance-floors and clogging up the BBC Radio 1 airwaves. Not only supported by the key players in drum and bass, It was chosen by Zane Lowe as one of his 'Hottest Records' three weeks in a row, and included in his 'Tunes of the year', a rare feat for a DnB track.
On the flip-side 'The Voice of the Mysterons' has seen heavy support from the scene's big djs, also gaining healthy Radio 1 support; This underground anthem delivers a wall of bass catered for the drum and bass purists alone.
With the Rollz debut single scheduled to go on sale in early 2010, this is just the start, placing Formation records on top of an arsenal of Rollz dubs poised to set the scene alight. With Grooverider and Huw Stephens tipping him as their breakthrough artist for 2010, Rollz means business.
An excerpt from SRD on Plugged in:
'Smashing dance floors across the country at the hands of some the scene's biggest names such as High Contrast, Fabio, Andy C and Grooverider - 'Plugged In' has seen unparalleled support and popularity within the UK music world.
This electric roller has even been picked up by Radio 1's own Zane Lowe as one of his top ten hottest tracks in the world!
Opening with a rich, energetic sweeping intro, the track drops into a high-octane upbeat smasher. It's crystal clear bass sounds rise and push through the melody with a unique warmth that will have the hairs on the back of your neck standing on end.'
