If success is rewarded by hunger and hard work then it will come as no surprise that Harry Shotta is now recognized as one of the most gifted and versatile MC’s in the UK.
An invitation from life long friend MC Funsta to join him on the Drum N Bass stage at the Notting Hill Carnival led to a whole batch of DNB P.A’s and radio appearances. As an MC who has paid his dues in the world of Hip Hop Harry Shotta had been working on tracks with Skibadee, one of which became the’1xtra record of the week’. With his skills in double time flows it was a natural progression to flex these skills in the Drum N Bass arena. The rapid rise of Harry Shotta in the Drum N Bass scene saw him being nominated as best breakthrough MC at this years DNB Awards in the space of three months.
Having already attracted attention from his performances at Innovation In The Sun, Gatecrasher, Breakin Science, Low Down Deep and Movement, Harry Shotta has also appeared on BBC 1xtra, Kiss, Kool FM, Pyro, DNB TV, Force FM and Cyndicut. One stand out show was the full UNCZ line up on Kool FM back to back with Dizzee Rascal and D Double E.
Skibadee, Funsta, Harry Shotta and Ruffstuff have also joined forces under the ‘UNCZ banner where they are already in demand for their exciting and passionate live performances. An album from the ‘UNCZ’ is planned for this year, which will be supported by various videos.
Watch out for the Harry Shotta album ‘Pepper Flow’ which is bringing together some of the finest names and rising stars from the Hip Hop, Drum N Bass and Grime scenes. Alongside Harry Shotta there are guest appearances from ‘Skibadee’ and Funsta’, Dynamite MC, Darrison, Skeme, Buggsy, Mr Ti2bs, Young Man and Steelo with hot beats from the likes of Destruction, Crissy Criss, Beni G (Mixolgists), Plus One (Scratch Perverts), JC (Dirty Pop) and DJ Mentat….
Harry Shotta’s momentum in the DNB scene has seen him gain support from all areas of the industry. This has included recent interviews in ATM and Knowledge, the current Zen Podcast on DNB Arena and a full live showcase on DNB TV with DJ Heist. The recently released studio mix from KG and Harry Shotta has already resulted in over 80,000 downloads generating even more interest to see Shotta live.
